As an editor, I've worked with writers at just about every level, from new writers to award-winning and bestselling authors. I specialize in speculative and genre fiction: horror, noir, historical fiction, science fiction, and fantasy. I'm the Editor in Chief of Nightscape Press and one of three co-editors of the Horror for Good charitable anthology series alongside Mark C. Scioneaux and Bram Stoker-nominated editor, R.J. Cavender.
My editing services consist of a combination of grammatical line editing, content, consistency, and copy editing all in one; complete with extensive notes explaining individual edits. With my services, I also include a three-to-five-page story critique and composition overview that includes notes on areas of individual strengths and weaknesses as well as resources and/or further instruction on specific trouble areas, if needed. I work hard to make sure the final product is as clean or cleaner than industry standard.
I offer a three-to-five-page free sample in order to give myself and my prospective clients a chance to make sure that your work and my editing style are a good fit.
Feel free to email me with any questions, request a quote, or schedule a free sample at rsweditorialservices@gmail.com

—Jason Duke, author of RETRIBUTION
Robert S. Wilson's work is very in-depth. He takes the time to make sure he has it right. He provided me broad notes and line by line edits/proofreading. He took the time to point out repeated words and that was really helpful. It made them stand out and I really saw how much I was using some words. Overall, I highly recommend him.
—Richard Flores IV, author of several published science fiction stories and the upcoming novel, DISSOLUTION OF PEACE
"Robert knows his stuff. From story to character to those little troublesome punctuation places, he can improve a piece ten fold."

I am an editor for a living and was very impressed with Robert's editing skills. He also provided me with very thorough and well thought out comments. I would recommend his services as a skilled editor."
—L.L. Soares, author of several published short stories and novellas and the upcoming novel, LIFE RAGE, due out in September from Nightscape Press
“With a talent for not only copy and line editing, Mr. Wilson also has a fine eye for the overall structure of a story, which lies in the details. He is wonderfully detail-oriented and can help an author turn a phrase from good to great with but a word or two of professional advice. He did a fantastic job with my short story “Soldier Boy” and I certainly look forward to working with him in the future.”
—C.L. Stegall, author of THE WEIGHT OF NIGHT
"An excellent editor enhances your work, polishes it, and makes it ready for the limelight. Robert delivers all three and adds courtesy and professionalism too!"
